Here's what our customers are saying...
Hospitals KK BALERS COME TO THE AID OF THE HEALTHCARE INDUSTRY
Hospitals are just one sector
of the market that KK Balers help in meeting their waste handling needs. Here at KK Balers we recognise that Health
and Safety, and cleanliness is of paramount importance to this industry.
Woking Community Hospital quote; "Having
been given the remit to reduce waste disposal costs, we turned to the expertise of KK Balers, with their advice and support
we initially introduced the KK Minipress.
By removing cardboard from general waste we have reduced the amount of
waste being taken to Landfill sites by 60%. A recycling company now removes our baled cardboard for free.
We
then introduced the KK240BB, bag compactor. This unit is used for compacting the office and catering waste. Once
the waste is compacted it is put into wheelie bins, which are collected by our waste disposal contractor, we do not get charged
any extra for compacting our waste.
By introducing both units the volume of waste has significantly reduced, with
the number of wheelie bins now being collected has decreased from nine to four. Our costs have halved and we are on
target to make year-to-year savings against our waste disposal budget.
The Hospital porters find the machines indispensable,
they are easy and safe to use and have improved the Hospital site; the waste disposal area is much cleaner and tidier than
it has ever been in the past."

Carpet Manufacturers 500 SA SEMI AUTOMATIC BALER
We were approached by Gwent based Abingdon Flooring to survey their
site and recommend a suitable machine to deal with their waste stream which consists of cardboard, carpet tubes, cones, packing
material, packing tubes and layerboards.
Until recently the cardboard was removed from site in open skips free
of charge. What Abingdon Flooring did not realise was that apart from all the unsightly skips creating a Health and
Safety issue, they could also be receiving revenue for cardboard that was baled into Mill-Sized Bales.
Following
KK Balers recommendations Abingdon Flooring leased a KK500 SA Semi Automatic Baler. They now bale approximately 18 tonnes
of card each week and recycle 50% of their tubes. Not only has the baler improved housekeeping and cut out
the need for skips, they are now paid for their cardboard bales.
The machine will have paid for itself in
less than a year and could be in profit (depending on card value) from between £40,000 - £60,000 per annum.
Mike Collins, Technical Manager at Abingdon Flooring is so 'over the moon' with the result of his acquisition
last year, that he has just ordered his second machine.
Farming
Sector BESPOKE KK500 MILL-SIZED BALER
Cherry Valley Farm; KK Balers
were asked to visit Cherry Valley Farm in Lincolnshire to investigate problems they were experiencing dealing with huge volumes
of feathers which were being produced within the poultry factory.
They had been using an old waste baler in an
attempt to reduce their volumes which in turn created problems with storage and handling onto vehicles for disposal.
Consequently more than £1000.00 per month was being spent on removal of the bales.
Following the visit
of our Sales Director, a trial was proposed utilizing one of KK's 500 Mill-Sized Balers, modified in order to deal with
this difficult waste by-product more efficiently.
Four weeks later following a succesful trial, the bespoke KK500
was purchased. They are now producing up to 75 bales of feathers per week, each bale being an average of 450kg giving
them an overall saving of at least £1500.00 per month.
Farming Sector
KK MINI BALER
KK Balers supplied one of their Mini Balers to Evans Humphreys & Son, an established
farm and breeder of cows, situated in Cwmmawr, Dyfed. The Proprietor, Mr Densil Evans said they were generating large
amounts of plastic wrap which was having to be manually bagged up, prior to being collected by a recycling company.
By utilizing the KK Mini Baler the whole operation is now much tidier: Now the plastic is baled there is far more space.
Only two bales are produced each week, which due to their size, are easily stored for collection. The radical change
in processing waste which we proposed and implemented has dramatically cut costs. The KK Mini Baler is very simple to
use and has been the complete solution to Evans Humphreys & Son.
Due to legislation introduced during May 2006
farm waste is now treated as industrial waste and has to be disposed of accordingly.
